A curated technical reference for the US market. We preserve the original source, its fields, and the date we checked it.
What “source verified” means
We retrieved a public record, preserved the raw response and checked required identifiers, US market coverage and numeric ranges. This is verification against the published source, not an independent performance test, proof of current availability, or a promise of incentive eligibility.
We retrieve the complete United States market subset of the five ENERGY STAR datasets below. This is not a census of all HVAC equipment sold in the US. Manufacturer listing patterns such as * are preserved; they are not expanded into invented SKUs. Ratings may come from older certifications still present in the retrieved dataset.

EPA ENERGY STAR — Air-source heat pumps
Dataset w7cv-9xjt. Source of component combinations, SEER2, HSPF2, capacity and cold climate designation.
EPA ENERGY STAR — Furnaces
Dataset i97v-e8au. Source of furnace models, AFUE, fuel type and certification region. “U.S. South Only” remains explicitly labeled.
EPA ENERGY STAR — Boilers
Complete US-market subset. Original equipment class, loop type, units and rating methods are retained per record.
EPA ENERGY STAR — Geothermal heat pumps
Complete US-market subset. Original equipment class, loop type, units and rating methods are retained per record.

Pending independent cross-check. The public endpoint returned HTTP 403 during retrieval on September 21, 2026. No model-level DOE facts or DOE compliance claims are published in this reference.

ENERGY STAR data: EPA data license. Technical manufacturer PDFs remain with their respective owners and are linked only as source evidence. This site has no affiliate, retailer or purchase links. AHRI reference numbers are copied from EPA records; direct AHRI access is not enabled.
Supplemental geothermal ratings
Where EPA omits a geothermal rating, we retain that missing field. Separately labeled Natural Resources Canada records are linked only after matching the exact brand, model text, equipment class and loop type. Heating and cooling COP remain dimensionless and are not relabeled as EER. Different certification references and rating variants remain visible; a matching model does not prove an identical certified configuration.
NRCan ground-source heat pump directory. Some EPA rows provide only COP; the absence of EER does not establish that the equipment is heating-only.
How the catalog is organized
- Brand identifies the equipment brand reported by the source.
- Family holds the source’s explicit series name. Missing family names stay unknown. If source records disagree on the series for one unit, each record retains its own family assertion; no single family is assumed.
- Unit model identifies an outdoor unit, indoor unit, furnace, boiler, geothermal unit or commercial model. It does not inherit an arbitrary matched-system rating.
- Source-listed configuration identifies an EPA-listed configuration, including indoor and additional furnace components. SEER2 and HSPF2 belong to this record.
EPA permits multi-split submissions without individual indoor model identifiers. Those records are labeled as outdoor-model ratings, not complete matched configurations. Manufacturer-documented kits and explicitly identified single-package equipment are labeled separately. Missing indoor brand names remain unknown. The source may list a combination as a model pattern or component string; this does not establish compatibility for any unlisted configuration.
Unconfirmed or unavailable data
- DOE model-level reconciliation and current certification status outside the captured EPA snapshot.
- Direct AHRI verification and redistribution permissions. No direct AHRI dataset has been imported.
- 50 raw records missing component identification or required efficiency ratings.
- Manufacturer installation manuals for every model; matched specification sheets and family literature are linked, with extracted electrical and weight values only for identical model patterns.
- Missing family or indoor brand names; independent reconciliation of component wildcards and multi-unit strings.
- Pricing, inventory, discontinuation, warranty and installation suitability. Dimensions, noise and electrical specifications are incomplete; absence is not a zero value.
- Tax credits, rebates, local code compliance and suitability for a specific building or climate.
Repeatable imports & change history
Imports run in a PostgreSQL transaction with stable source record keys. Identical reruns update verification timestamps without duplicating equipment or revisions. Changed source payloads retain both old and new values. Each field is retained in its original source payload with a source ID and check date. The current fetch validates every page and the total source count. Only a validated complete snapshot can withdraw absent records from publication; a partial import cannot.
